HOTEL LOGIN NISEKO, a hotel developed by TONARESORT, officially opened in the Niseko area of Hokkaido on February 1, 2025. Today, I would like to share the passion and vision behind TONARESORT’s business.

The other day, my five-year-old daughter looked at me curiously and asked, “Dad, why do you work?” For a moment, I stopped and thought.Since founding the semiconductor trading company TONARISM in 2018, I have continued taking on various challenges, including semiconductor development and recruitment services. And now, I am also working on Tonaresort’s hotel business. At first glance, these ventures may seem completely unrelated. But what is the meaning behind all of these challenges? The answer was in my daughter’s smile.

“You see, my job is to help people spend more time with the people they care about.”

My daughter’s cutest eyes sparkled. “Will you spend more time with me?” “Yes, of course.” Actually, there is a saying that I have always kept in my heart: “The best life is one where you can spend a long time next to the people you love.”

Niseko’s powdery snow is called “JAPOW” and admired by skiers all over the world. Time spent skiing down the snow with your parents. A quiet morning spent with your lover while gazing at Mt. Yotei, which resembles Mt. Fuji and is also known as Ezo Fuji. A night spent looking up at the starry sky with friends. The precious time of life is always born when you are “neighboring” someone. Miracle powder snow is created when the moist air currents carried from the Sea of Japan in Hokkaido meet the cold air from Siberia. The snow is surprisingly light and delicate, and it rises like air, gently opening a path for the skier’s body movements. Every time I ski down the slopes in Niseko, I feel from the bottom of my heart that I am glad to be Japanese. Although it is not well known, Niseko in the summer is also wonderful. The vivid green spreads at the foot of Mt. Yotei, which is covered with remaining snow. Trekking and cycling can be enjoyed in the clear air. At night, the starry sky spreads out, giving you an impression that you can never experience in the city.

However, in today’s world, our precious time is hindered by various inconveniences. The hassle of travel procedures, the time spent confused about how to use the facilities, the disappointment of being given a room that is different from what we expected. I wanted to eliminate such “wasted time” with the power of technology. That’s why we created a groundbreaking “smart resort” in Niseko. With smart locks, there is no need to hand over keys, and all the facilities in the room can be operated with a single tablet. This is a new form of “hospitality” that was only possible with our knowledge of semiconductors and IoT.

From check-in to check-out, unmanned operation minimizes human interaction, providing an ideal stay environment for those who want to spend time alone with their loved ones. By making the most of technology in the management and operation of the facilities, people can spend their time on the things that truly matter. That is what we consider to be a “smart resort.”

I sometimes think about my father. When I was a child, he was busy with work from early in the morning until late at night, and we never had much time to spend together. But now, as a father myself, I understand for the first time that he worked so hard for his family back then. But now, he loves my daughter as much as he did me back then.

Perhaps the reason I feel so strongly about the importance of spending time with my daughter is because I grew up watching my father do so. That’s why I want to use the power of technology to create a world where everyone can spend more time with their loved ones.

We have decided to use this “Smart Resort Model” to expand to other resort development sites, because we believe that wonderful times with loved ones should not only be spent in Niseko, but in attractive places all over Japan.

The elegant atmosphere of Kyoto, the crystal clear sea of Okinawa, the scenery of thatched roofs of Shirakawa-go, the majestic mountain ranges of the Japanese Alps. Japan has countless tourism resources that it can be proud of around the world. We will develop the “smart resort” model that we have perfected in Niseko in these wonderful places. That is our next challenge. And in the future, we also plan to develop resorts through crowdfunding, offering accommodation vouchers and investment returns to please our investors.

Last night, while I was taking a bath with my daughter, she said, “I love you, Daddy.” When I heard those words, I was convinced. People are happiest when they are “next to” someone else. And increasing those happy times is our mission at TONARESORT and my goal in life.

February 1, 2025. The grand opening of “HOTEL LOGIN NISEKO” is the first step in making our dream a reality. From semiconductors to hotels, our businesses may seem unrelated at first glance. However, everything is born from a single desire: “To increase the time we can spend next to our loved ones.”

Technology is there to bring people closer together, not drive them apart.

We at the TONARISM Group will continue to take on new challenges with this belief in mind, so we would appreciate your support.
